Reanne Powell

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Reading this book felt like discovering an old friend. I loved it! The characters are charming, quirky, and capture the heart of ordinary people dealing with the aftermath of the war.

Juliet Ashton is an author who begins corresponding with residents on the island of Guernsey after the end of WWII. She learns about a book club that started during the German occupation and decides to write their story. She soon falls in love with the island and its people.

There isn’t much to say about this book that hasn’t already been said. If you enjoyed the Netflix movie like I did, then definitely add this one to your list. Also, the entire story is written in letters, which adds to the charm. Can’t recommend it enough.
