The first word that comes to mind when I think of this book is sweet! 𧥠From the characters to the pies and pancakes to the small town charm... just pure sweetness.
Amelia is a burned out pop star looking for some time away, and her car breaks down in front of Noahâs house. He reluctantly lets her stay in his guest room, but wants nothing to do with her celebrity problems. However, it doesnât take long for Amelia to fall in love with the cozy town and the handsome pie shop owner.
This story is grumpy/sunshine trope perfection and I loved the honesty between them. There was no âI canât believe you never told me you were famousâ crisis. They worked through their problems like adults. (Obviously not a fan of miscommunication đ) Plus I love books set in a small town! Give me all the quirky characters!
All in all, donât miss this if you love a good romcom! Happy to have When in Rome finally join the rest of my Sarah Adams collection.
Content: closed door romance and some mild swearing.

From the back cover:
Amelia Rose, known as Rae Rose to her adoring fans, is burned-out from years of maintaining her âprincess of popâ image. Inspired by her favorite Audrey Hepburn film, Roman Holiday, she drives off in the middle of the night for a break in Rome . . . Rome, Kentucky, that is.
When Noah Walker finds Amelia on his front lawn in her broken-down car, he makes it clear he doesnât have the time or patience for celebrity problems. Heâs too busy running the pie shop his grandmother left him and reminding his nosy but lovable neighbors to mind their own damn business. Despite his better judgment, he lets her stay in his guest roomâbut only until her car is fixedâthen sheâs on her own.
Then Noah starts to see a different side of Rae Roseâsheâs Amelia: kindhearted and goofy, yet lonely from years in the public eye. He canât help but get close to her. Soon sheâll have to return to her glamorous life on tour, but until then, Noah will show Amelia all the charming small-town experiences sheâs been missing, and sheâll help him open his heart to more.
Amelia canât resist falling for the cozy town and her grumpy tour guide, but even Audrey had to leave Rome eventually.
